Seva Projects Galore!
Our Bala Vihar community has been busy serving the needs of our community. We had two projects this month living up to two aspects of our Chinmaya Pledge. Our Food Drive was a great success. Although we only had two sessions to collect food, our community went above and beyond to gather items helping us practice “giving more than what we take”. All items were donated to the South Bay Food Initiative . Thanksgiving Food Drive Food Finders Food Distribution Sonia Malhotra was the brains behind finding a great organization to partner with for an in-person Seva Project. Food Finders rescued over 22 million pounds of food in 2022. 99% of that rescued food gets delivered immediately from the food donor location to a recipient agency who prepares and distributes it within 24 hours to those in need.
